Harley is a Charolais breed of cattle. Thought to have originated in a French area near Burgundy called Charolles around 800 AD.
I was inspired to paint this light color subject on a light back ground because I wanted his grey tones to be soft yet indicate his great strength. And, I just love their broad faces, curly forelock, shaggy ears and velvet mouths.
